Artwork Preparation for Guerrilla Mobile BillboardsBanner Size
The image size of the banners required for our mobile billboards is 127" tall by 274" wide, or 109" tall by 235" wide. The image can bleed off the edge, but it is recommended that you keep critical text at least five inches from the edge unless the design is intentional.
Please provide a color copy of the mobile billboard layout for visual reference along with the computer file. This allows us to double check that what we see on the disk matches what you want on the banner, before the proofing process.
The optimum production lead-time is 15 business days (Monday through Friday with holidays subtracted). A color proof will be provided in 2-3 business days and should be approved in writing in 1-2 business day(s). Production takes 6-9 business days, and installation takes 1-2 business days. This schedule begins once we receive properly formatted artwork along with the production deposit. Please contact us as soon as possible if these constraints cause a problem.
Guerrilla Billboards will provide an Acrobat PDF color proof of your mobile billboard ad via email. You will be asked to approve the proof by printing, signing, and faxing it back to us.
Media SpecificationsWe can accept the following media for your digital files.
DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, CD-R, CD-RW
FTP Upload (call for instructions)
Mac or PC?We work on Macintosh computers, however PC files that are formatted correctly are acceptable. For Illustrator, Freehand, Quark Xpress, Pagemaker, or InDesign, just con-vert any text to curves/outlines. For CorelDraw, convert text to curves and export as a .pdf or .eps file.
Application NotesAdobe Photoshop
All colors including Pantone colors should be converted to CMYK. If possible, keep all elements in layers for editing. Images should be at a 1" = 1 foot scale, at 360 dpi; thus, the banners for our billboard trucks should be 10.58" tall by 22.83" wide, or 9.08" tall by 19.58" wide.
Adobe Illustrator, Macromedia Freehand
The layout should be in proportion at a 1" = 1 foot scale. All colors including Pantone colors should be converted to CMYK. If you have placed art in your document, make sure you supply all the necessary support files. Please convert all text elements to curves or outlines.
Quark XPress, Adobe Pagemaker / InDesign
The layout should be in proportion to a 1" = 1 foot scale. All colors including Pantone colors should be converted to CMYK. If you have placed art in your document, make sure you supply all the necessary support files, with any text elements saved as curves or outlines. Save placed art in EPS or TIFF format. Include all fonts used in your document; be sure to include both printer and screen fonts. If you are working on a PC, the best thing to do is to export your text as a EPS file, open that file in Illustrator or CorelDRAW, convert the text to outlines / curves, export as EPS, and place that EPS in your document.
Scanned images should follow the sizing guidelines for Adobe Photoshop documents shown above. If your original image doesn’t conform to this scale or size, this should be taken into account when doing the scans. Example: You are scanning a 2¼"x2¼" chrome, and plan to use the full width (but not height) of the image on your billboard. Given that we need a total of 8220 pixels over the banner width, your original should be scanned at 8220 / 2.25" = 3653 ppi (pixels per inch). The recommended separation mode for our process is: UCR: 300% total ink limit, SWOP Coated.
